I am a little skeptical when new places appear after others have failed. This defiantly was the case for a little neighbourhood joint, Smooth Curry. I gave my wife two to three suggestions to where we could go out to eat. Smooth Curry was thrown into the mix due to its closeness to home not to mention we had friends watching our kids. Regardless how it happened I am glad that it did. I sat down and asked the waitress "what's good". She answered me in a way that gave me flashbacks of the Big Bang Theory... "Everything". Now I really wanted to quote Sheldon Cooper with his "Statistically impossible" comment, but I held my tongue. Now you don't really know me, but not speaking my mind is definitely not my forte. The Manager of the restaurant walked by and greeted us. So I posed the same question to him. He pointed out two of his favourite dishes: Pad Thai, the national dish of Thailand and a Spicy Cashew Chicken dish. I ordered the Pad Thai and my wife ordered the Chicken. I also ordered the Tom Yum Kung, a well known Thai sweet and sour soup while my wife ordered the Mango Salad. It was delicious, all of it! Needless to say I found myself back there a week later with similar results. I like to not just try a restaurant once and judge it by my first impression. I mean I do at times, but that doesn't make it right. Perhaps they got lucky with the dish, or unlucky if it was bad. Perhaps I was really hungry the first time there and anything, even damp cardboard would have made me happy. No it really was good food!
